Unit 3 My friends (Period 1)

Story time

Teaching aims

1`Enable the students listen, read, write and say the words and phrases goodbye, my friend, he’s, she’s.

2 Enable the students use the sentences “He’s/She’s… He’s/She’s my friend. to introduce their friends with right pronunciation and intonation.

3 Enable the students read and act the text with right pronunciation and intonation.

Teaching important points:

Teaching procedures

Step1.Warm up

1. say the rhyme

         Are you Mike?

 

Step 2 Presentation

1 play a game.

Guess: Who’s he/she?

(Show a part of the picture of the students in text book.)

S1:Shes/Hes……

T: Youre right/wrong.

Show all the figures together, Ss read together, then lead the students say They are our friends. together.

Ss read the sentence together.

T: I want to show you my friend. Please read after me.(T shows a friend to Ss)

Ss read the words He, Hes,

Ss read the word friend in little train.

Ss read the sentence : “Hes JiangLi.  Hes my friend.

Ss read after teacher( one by one, little train.)

T shows the picture of Mike and lead the students say the sentence Hes  Mike. Hes my friend. to introduce Mike.

Ask some students say the sentence.

T: I want to show you another friend. Please read after me.(T shows a friend to Ss)

Ss read the words She, Shes,

Ss read the word friend in little train.

Ss read the sentence : “Shes SunDan.  Shes my friend.

Ss read after teacher( one by one, little train.)

T shows the picture of Yang Ling and lead the students say the sentence: Shes Yang Ling. Shes my friend.

Ask some students say the sentence.

T shows Tips:在英语中,男的他要使用he,女的她要使用she

Ss read together.)

Chant:

He’s, he’s, he’s Mike.

Friend, friend, he’s my friend.

She’s, she’s, she’s Yang Ling.

Friend, friend, she’s my friend.

Ss read together with music.)

你能找出你的朋友吗?向我们介绍一下他/她吧。

Watch the cartoon with the question: Are Mike and YangLing friends?

Check the answers

(1) Ss read after the video.

(2) Ss read the text with right pronounciation and intonation.

Step3. Consolition

Make a dialogue

情境:同学聚会,向你的朋友介绍你的新朋友。可以发挥你的想象,适当延伸对话的内容。

Good morning.

Hes… He’s my friend.

She’s… She’s my friend.

Nice to meet you. /Nice to meet you, too.

Goodbye.

Exercise

情境应对

    1你介绍你的朋友杨玲,你说:

She’s Yang Ling. She’s my friend.

2. 当你介绍麦克是你的朋友时,你说:

He’s Mike. He’s my friend.

3. 当你和你的朋友道别是,你说:

Goodbye./ Bye-bye!

 

Play a video of friend. Teach the sentence:

A friend in need is a friend indeed.

 

Step5.Homework

1) Read the dialogue after the tape five times, and act it with your friend.

2) Introduce your friends to your mum and dad, use what you learnt today!
